Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' the first artist of female gender for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The first single, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012 when she launched her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the internet including her independently released single Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole had her sing her songs to the Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to work with her on some references. On December 8 it was confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she supported by EarthGang. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. And Bas in Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on September 5. The 9th of November saw her release two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013 she dropped No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole on The Creed II sound track on November 16. The music video premiered on 20 February 2019 to accompany the track. Within the first period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
